Korean War - 1950-53 (Ch. 17.3) - was the war between South and North Korea, and because alliances other countries were forced to be involved the US helped South and China and Soviet Union fought for the north

Hydrogen Bomb is created/Arms Race - 1952 (Ch. 17.1) - Hydrogen bomb is a nuclear bomb that fission and is established as one of the biggest most dangerous bombs ever made. The Arms Race is when two or more countries fight for who is the most powerful.

Warsaw Pact - 1955 (Ch. 17.1) - was a collective defense in NATO with eight communist states

De-Stalinization - 1956 (Ch. 17.5) - was the process of getting the poltical reformed after the death of Stalin. They had changed a little with their government

Sputnik - 1957 (Ch. 17.1) - was a satellite and was 58 cm in a diameter and was used by the Soviet Union. It was them trying to advance themselves to beat the US in the space race

U-2 Incident - 1960 (Ch. 17.1) was when the US had a spy plane over the Soviet Union and had got shot down. This had showed that the US was spying on the USSR and seem to be that they had a fear of the USSR being a little better than them

Berlin Wall - 1961 (Ch. 17.5) was a barrier that divided Berlin in 1961 to 1989 and was made by Germany

Creation of the Eastern Bloc - 1945-48 (Ch. 17.1)- This was made for having the Soviet Union states be able to talk to each other and work with each other on things. It had also made impacts the countries in the Warsaw Pact.

The "Iron Curtain Speech"- 1946 (Ch. 17.1)- This was a speech from Churchill and was the process of the soviet union ceiling themselves of f to the other countries.

The Long Telegram/Containment - 1946 (Ch. 17.1)- this was George Kennan a man that had a lot of knowledge from Moscow and sent over 8000 telegrams.

The Truman Doctrine - 1947 (Ch. 17.1)- this was a policy made to stop the expansion of the Soviet Union.

The Marshall Plan - 1947 (Ch. 17.1)- was an effort from the Americans to help Europe and Asia and they gave 13 billioon. US is known to give money to countries and always stepping in to help. This is a reseason that we are in so much debt because we always go into someone else business,

Berlin Blockade/Airlift - 1948-49 (Ch. 17.1)
 - was one of the first crisis in the Cold War and was an act from the Soviet Union basically blocking off everything. The airlift had been failed and the airplane had crashed.

Soviets get the A-Bomb - 1949 (Ch. 17.1) - Soviet Union finally perfects the ways to make the A- bomb then officially starts to test the bomb out. The technology of the USSR had been working hard and this was just the beginning of the race of nuclear technology.

Creation of NATO - 1949 (Ch. 17.1) - was the treaty of the North Atlantic. It had built a army of NATO and NATO had been with many countries. NATO has many countries but the biggest supporters of NATO is the US.

China Becomes Communist - 1949 (Ch. 17.2) - China becomes Communist and declares themselves as a communist state. It had came into the USSR allies and ran with the same government and policy. China eventually later after the death of Stalin had broke off then became their own superpower and still was a communist party but not part of USSR.
